Hi!! I'm Haley. When I was about 14 years old I began to dream big about becoming a professional mountain bike racer and it's been absolutely unreal to see those visions turn into my reality. I couldn't have predicted the journey that my bike would take me on, the challenges, the accomplishments, and the incredible people along the way, but it's an amazing ride.
It all began when I was 9 years old, with my little bother by my side, when we started joining in on the local mtb races with my dad. Growing up in Park City, UT provided me with a supportive cycling community and endless trails to explore. There are so many moments and opportunities throughout my life that have been fundamental in my development as an athlete, but it was these early years that truly sparked my passion for the sport. Biking gave me access to a sense of freedom and independence that I had never experienced before, while also allowing me to make connections with my family, friends, my community, and the outdoors. The opportunities for exploration became limitless. |
It was when I was 14 that I earned my first national title as a junior in Sun Valley, Idaho. Soon, I was off chasing races across the nation with the Whole Athlete development team. By the time I joined the CLIF Pro Team (Luna Chix), I was 17 and really just getting started. After being introduced to the international stage of racing and World Cup competition, I had a new fire in my belly to take on the challenge. There was something incredible about the thrilling environment, challenging courses, and tight racing that got me even more excited to hunt for speed. Over the past few years I've learned more than ever to appreciate the people in my circle, supporting me, teaching me, and motivating me through the ups and down along the way.
Now, in 2021, I'm entering my first season in the elite category and with Trinity Racing. Although I'm training and traveling more, while competing at a higher level than I ever have, I'm still that same little kid who loves to pedal fast through trees on my bicycle. Not much has changed ;) and I'm just as stoked as ever. Thanks for following my journey and I hope to see you out on the trails!

Quest University Canada
I've continued my studies while pursuing my professional mountain bike career in Squamish, British Columbia. Although keeping up with my academics, training, and social life can be quite challenging at times, I've learned that this balance is really valuable for me. At Quest, I am able to pursue a Liberal Arts and Sciences Degree with the Block Program (1 class at a time for 3.5 weeks) and take courses off during the race season. This University has helped me find my passions beyond cycling, while giving me a new appreciation for this sport at the same time. Squamish is an incredible place to be based during my studies and I also feel so grateful for the community that I have found there.
At Quest, we have a Question instead of a major. This allows us to create an interdisciplinary and individualized educational experience. My Question is "How can education be optimized to inspire?" With this question, I am interested in the role that the education system plays in inspiring students to engage with the environment, their communities, and themselves to solve global issues. I want to explore the relationship between neuroscience and education and how the application of science into the learning process can engage students in the most fulfilling way.
