I LOVE winter! I know that may sound crazy being a mountain biker, but I really do. It provides so many different options for training and it is absolutely beautiful!! The thrill of a blizzard, snow piled high on tree branches, or the glistening snow on a blue bird day. It's nice to have a change of scenery. It's a chance to try new things, like a deep breath of fresh air. As winter began to settle in, a trip to the Colorado Springs Olympic training center put some more logs on the fire. This facility is insanely motivating.... On arriving back home it was time to get some miles in on the nordic skis. This is one of my absolute favorite sports, brutally hard, yet a great way to work on balance and explore the winter wonderland. This was my third season training and racing with The Utah Nordic Alliance. They are truly an amazing group of people that have done a lot to help grow the sport. I decided to take a little weekend trip to Sun Valley with the team to test my racing legs. And they weren't too bad ;) I was pretty happy to take home a win in the U20 5k skate. So far this winter has been a great one and it's not over yet! Hope to see you out there! Oh... and if you haven't tried swissbobbing yet, I highly recommend it.
